Mod Loader Installation

To play with mods, you need to have a mod loader.loader. For DOOM Eternal, there are currently a few tools necessary for that, plus a batch file that automates backing up and restoring files as well as running the tools for you.

Step 1:1 - Download the mod-loading tools:

The Doom Eternal mod-loading tools are hosted and maintained by the Doom 2016+ Modding Discord. The files you need and the installation instructions depend on what version of the game you have.

Steam/Bethesda.net versions:

If you use the Steam/Bethesda.net Launcher version on Windows, go to https://discord.com/channels/570112501853978624/693113846688383029/879083913144860712, download the "EternalModInjector.zip" archive from that message, and extract its contents to your DOOM Eternal installation's root directory, e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DOOMEternal\.

To find your DOOM Eternal installation's root directory for Steam, right-click DOOM Eternal in your Steam library, and choose "Properties..." > "Local Files" > "Browse...". This will open a File Explorer window inside that root folder. To find it for the Bethesda.net Launcher, click on DOOM Eternal's icon in the launcher, click "Game Options" near the top-right, and choose "Show in Folder".

Microsoft Store (Xbox Game Pass) version:

The Microsoft Store (Xbox Game Pass) version of the mod-loading tools can be found at https://discord.com/channels/570112501853978624/693113846688383029/877683548285464657.

Linux version:
